Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 July 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Blit app ("Blit", "the app"). By downloading or using Blit, you agree to them. Blit is also provided under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA); where these terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA governs.

1. Licence

Blit grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service and Apple's Standard EULA.

2. Plans and payment

Blit is free to download and includes a Free tier you can use for as long as you like, with no payment and no time limit. Additional features are unlocked with an optional in-app purchase:

Each purchase is a Universal Purchase: it covers your Mac, iPad, and iPhone when you're signed in with the same Apple ID. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from the plan screen in the app.

Free trial

Pro may be offered with a 14-day free trial. The trial is available once per Apple ID — if you've already used it, the app will show the standard price instead of a trial offer. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid monthly Pro subscription at the then-current price.

Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings — cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Pricing

All payments are charged to your Apple ID and handled by Apple, not by me — I never receive or store your payment details. Prices may vary by region. Current pricing is introductory and may increase as Blit grows; any change applies only to new purchases and new subscription periods. If you buy Lifetime, your access is not affected by later price rises. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by me.

3. You own what you make

All pixel art, sprites, animations, tilesets, and files you create or export with Blit are your original work. You own the full copyright in what you make. Blit retains no rights in it. Your exports are royalty-free, worldwide, and in perpetuity — including full commercial use with no attribution required: use them in games, apps, videos, streams, ads, and client work, and modify or redistribute them as part of your own work.

You may not: (a) resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Blit app itself; (b) represent Blit's technology as your own product; or (c) use the app for anything unlawful.

4. Your files are your responsibility

Blit stores your work locally on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping backups of anything important — for example in iCloud Drive, or by exporting copies. Blit saves carefully and keeps local version history, but I can't recover files that are lost, deleted, or removed when the app is deleted.

5. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app, and don't use it in violation of any applicable law.

6. No warranty

Blit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. I don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blit and its developer are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss — including lost work or data — arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory statutory consumer rights.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, without affecting the mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country you live in.

9. Changes

I may update these terms; the date at the top will reflect any change.
