Symply ("the app") is an asthma and allergy tracker. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles and how.
Symply has no account and no sign-in. We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal or health data. There are no third-party advertising or analytics services in the app.
Information you log — peak flow readings, symptoms, triggers, medications, Asthma Control Test results, notes, and profiles — is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, this data also syncs to your own private iCloud account using Apple's iCloud service. It is never sent to the developer or to any other party.
If you grant permission, Symply can save your peak flow readings to Apple Health and read peak flow, sleep, and step data from it to help you spot patterns. This data stays within Apple Health and your device and is governed by Apple's privacy protections. Symply never transmits Health data off your device.
If you grant location permission, your approximate location is used solely to fetch a local pollen and air-quality forecast. Your coordinates are sent to a third-party forecast service (see Third-party services below) to retrieve that forecast and are not stored by Symply or linked to your identity. The app works without location access.
Symply uses the Open-Meteo API to provide pollen, air-quality and weather data. Only the location coordinates needed to return a forecast are sent. No personal or health information is shared with Open-Meteo. See the Open-Meteo terms for details.
For pollen forecasts in regions Open-Meteo does not cover, Symply may use the Google Pollen API. Where it is used, only the location coordinates needed to return a forecast are sent — no personal or health information is shared.
Symply also includes optional "request" buttons (for example, to ask for pollen coverage in your country, or for a medication to be added). If you choose to use one, it opens a Google Form in your browser; anything you enter there is submitted to Google Forms and is used only to help prioritise future features. Using these forms is entirely optional.
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Symply does not see or store your payment details.
If you enable reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is sent through external servers.
Symply lets you create profiles for family members, including children, so a parent or guardian can track their symptoms. All such data stays on the device and the guardian's private iCloud, under the same protections described above.
You can delete any entry, profile, or all app data at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device; data stored in your iCloud can be removed via your iCloud settings.
Symply is a tracking tool and does not provide a medical diagnosis or medical advice. Always follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
