Dreams Diary is built to be private. Your dreams are yours.

The short version

Everything you write stays on your device — and, only if you turn on iCloud Sync, in your own private iCloud account.
We, the developer, never see, collect, store, sell, or share your dreams, your sleep, or any personal information.
No accounts. No ads. No third-party analytics or tracking.

What the app stores, and where

Your dreams, tags, moods, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database.
If you enable iCloud Sync, this data also syncs through your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit private database) so it's available on your other devices. This uses your Apple ID; the developer has no access to it.
If you enable at-rest encryption, your dream contents are encrypted on your device (AES-GCM). Your recovery code is the only way to read them on a new device — keep it safe, as we cannot recover it.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Dreams Diary reads (never writes) your sleep analysis, and — only to show them back to you — your date of birth (for the age-based recommended range) and, where available, overnight heart rate, heart-rate variability, and respiratory rate.
This data is used only on your device to show sleep context alongside your dreams. It is never sent off your device, never shared, and never sold.
You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Health app.

Notifications

Optional reminders (the morning reminder, reality-check reminders, and the Wake-Back-To-Bed timer) are scheduled locally on your device. They involve no server and no data collection.

Purchases

Dreams Diary Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Payments and subscription management are handled by Apple under your Apple ID — we do not receive your payment details. Apple may share aggregated, non-identifying purchase information with us for accounting.

The widget

The "Last Night's Sleep" widget reads a small local summary from a shared on-device container. It never leaves your device.

Children

Dreams Diary is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your control over your data

Because your data lives on your device (and your own iCloud), you are always in control: you can export or delete it at any time from within the app. We hold nothing about you to request or delete.

Dreams Diary is for reflection and general wellness. It does not provide medical, diagnostic, or crisis services.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
